Fibre reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete studied by computed tomography

چکیده
The production process of fibre reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete results in a preferential orientation of the fibres. The fibre orientation largely influences the strength and the deformation behaviour of this building material, therefore information on the fibre orientation is highly desirable. Computed tomography measurements allow for the non destructive investigation of the material. A sufficiently high contrast between fibres and concrete matrix offers the determination of the fibre orientation in different ways. Even glass fibres satisfy this condition. Furthermore, for a better understanding of the development of the fibre arrangement during the foaming process of the concrete, digital radiography was used to study the evolution of orientation in situ.

An in situ time-resolved X-ray diffraction (XRD) system for hydrothermal reaction has been developed in order to investigate the phase evolution during autoclave process in autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) formation. The system includes a novel autoclave cell for transmission XRD with thin beryllium windows, a two-dimensional photon-counting pixel array detector, and uses high energy X-rays fr...
متن کاملNumerical simulation for the drying shrinkage of autoclaved aerated concrete
A mathematical model for the description of drying shrinkage of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) is presented, bringing together the hygrothermal and mechanical considerations. The verification of the model is done using an approximation of a real laboratory experiment. Then, the applicability of the model is demonstrated by a numerical simulation of drying shrinkage and wetting expansion of A...
